How Jesus changed my life

My name is Terry. Before I became a Christian and was still a teenager my mum saw me in the house bored and said; “There’s a youth club over the road why not go over there”? Where we were living there was a church called ‘The full Gospel Tabernacle’. So one Sunday I went over to the entrance of the church where a man was standing at the door. I asked him if the youth club was on and he said not yet but if you want to know more you can come to the service next week. So next week I went and the pastor was speaking about John 3 v16. At the end he said; “If anyone would like to receive Jesus put your hands up” but nobody did. Afterwards one of the congregation asked me if i would like to receive Jesus .I said yes and they got the deacon to see me .He took me to his car to pray .And he asked me to ask the lord. for me to recieve jesus in my own words .I did and tears came down my eyes as I was praying. I saw some trees and they seemed different from before. My mum had cancer and had passed away but I heard from a family member that she got saved. She used to attended a meeting for shoppers at the Bullring church at St. Martins. Later on I became a volunteer at a Christian coffee shop and whilst working there I was praying for a while when my wife-to-be Karen came in and ordered a roll and tomato basil soup. She asked me if I would like to come to her church with her? I said ‘Yes’ Karen worked in a charity shops at Kings Heath which is around the corner where I proposed to her.

We got married in a register office but later received a blessing at our old church. We now attend the Living Well church.
